As we can see everywhere in the world, the growth is in foreign language. Here is no different. Yes, the territory is good, but it is even better in foreign language, there are sign language congregations, and groups sprouting up all over the country, Chinese, Creole, and even English!
The most interesting to me is Creole, the language spoken in Haiti.
The situation is interesting, and similar to that of the United States and Mexico. Hatians are looked down on, and they migrate here illegally. Their jobs are the jobs that the Dominicans don´t want...the cleaning, the construction, the agriculture.
A lot of the brothers in this area are learning Creole, and groups are forming. Like so many other places in the world, these humble migrators arrive in a foreign country and encounter prejudice, and hatred, but then they encounter a group who welcomes them with smiles, and who treat them with kindness, and view them with very high esteem.
I was working with a sister last week(Ana) who is learning Creole, and when we were walking, she spotted a group of Hatian boys, and when they heard her greet them in their own tongue, their faces lit up in smiles, and when she showed them a tract in their language, they were beside themselves. The conversation went extremely well...of course, I didn´t understand any of it...but by the end, Ana having nothing else to give them, had to give up her personal copy of the Require brochure, into their very eager hands.
