The first couple of days we spent exploring the area a little bit, and going out in service, and to the meetings. The Kingdom Hall is less than five minutes away, on foot. In the apartment is a small counter top stove, and so far we haven´t ventured to the market....all we´ve cooked is some rice, and pasta. We´ll get there eventually.
There is no hot water. It´s not as bad as it sounds. When you get in the shower and get over the initial shock (it takes your breath away)...it feels so good....refreshing, like rain.
On 3 sides of our apartment there are fruit trees. 2 of them are mango trees. Every morning when I get up I look out the window at the perfect view of mangoes...and anxiously await the golden color to creep in and gradually overtake the green husk....

- I started this blog when Aubrey and I went to the Dominican Rebuplic for 3 months, as a way for people back home to keep in touch and see what was going on.
